ABOUT NANCY

Nancy McCaughey is a Certified Hudson Institute Coach and trusted guide for seasoned professionals who want to renew, realign, or reinvent their career. For the last 10 years Nancy has guided, empowered and encouraged her clients as they seek to discover a new direction that is more fulfilling, shape a compelling vision for the next chapter of their life and develop a creative strategic plan to achieve it. Her clients recognize her for her deep listening skills, focused attention, creative insights, and authentic and compassionate style, while holding clients accountable for effective action that supports their highest goals.

Nancy brings a unique perspective and solid foundation to her clients to assist them as they move from where they are to where they want to be.  Prior to starting her private coaching practice in 2002, Nancy spent 25 years in business, serving in senior leadership positions for private and public corporations and for a decade as a Co-Founder of a non-profit organization in Hawaii. She has been responsible for strategic planning, marketing, business development, training & development, and launching several new products and business concepts in the healthcare, tour and hotel industries.

Beyond her professional experience and educational background, Nancy uniquely brings first-hand experience in changing careers at midlife, making significant relocations, and navigating life transitions including motherhood, divorce, and the passing of her parents. It is these life experiences that make her appreciate and understand the emotional and spiritual challenges that clients often experience as they move through the uncertainty of change and the transformational transitions of midlife. Her professional knowledge and personal experiences fuel the hopeful and positive perspective she holds for clients because she knows first-hand about the rich gifts of personal growth and new opportunities each transition offers.  Her experience as a hospice volunteer taught her the importance of making the most of this "one wild and precious life" we have each been given.

When she’s not coaching clients, leading workshops or speaking about midlife career transitions, Nancy enjoys boating in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, David, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, traveling to new places, being a fan of her son’s creative endeavors, cooking for friends, reading, and golfing.  She and her husband have made Bainbridge Island, Washington, their home.

Her Personal Mission

A few years ago, Nancy was led through a "Core Essence Statement" exercise which identified the four words that best describes who she is, and simply states the work she feels called to do...

“I am authentic, insightful, creative and compassionate. Courageously living my purpose and passionately inspiring others to live theirs’.”

This simple statement is what inspires her soul, guides her decisions, and brings meaning to her work with each and every client.  She considers it a privilege to evoke and witness her clients' dreams, and guide them as they uncover their own brilliance, claim their unique set of gifts and talents, discover their purpose, and navigate through this pivitol stage of life and career.
